Scenario:
Just connected a 2000 server running SQL 2000 to an Iomega NAS via a
crossover. Set both machines to be in the same workgroup and both have the
same local admin user and password. Also set the SQL service and the agent
service to run as the local admin.
Setup the NAS box to share and mapped the drives within explorer and all is
well. When I copied the database to one of the shared drives on the NAS
box and then try to restore it within Enterprise Manager the drive doesn't
show up?!?!?!?!
Any help would be greatly appreciated!Enterprise Manager will show the local drives but not mapped
drives. It's usually better to use UNC paths rather than
mapped drives.
Just an FYI...if you are planning on storing database files
on the NAS, database files on network storage devices are
not recommended (but are supported using trace flag 1807).
